Big rocks become little rocks...little rocks become tiny rocks... and tiny rocks are called SAND! Well, some tiny particles become silt or clay. But that's not the whole story - some sand doesn't come from rocks at all - it comes from living things! It can even be fossils! All together they form Sediment. While it might not look like much at at first, in this badge you will not only learn the difference between sand, silt, and clay, you will also discover how they fit into the big picture of geology and biology.
